Trigger Point needling with floatation   09/14/16
Reviewed by:     Location Not Given
I was hesitant to try, but started with my worst muscles that cause the most pain, expecially at night. Immediate results! The muscle was soft and no pain at the trigger point anymore. I see a Manual PT who is poking pretty much my whole body. I am now following the dry needling with salt water flotation therapy to relax. My PT says I need to start retraining my muscles with some stretching and light exercises. I have slept without my drugs this week prix viagra pour femme. We took 2 weeks to hit all my areas. We need more research...but this has been a blessing! I found the pain associated with the "twitches" she elicits is just a bit greater than the pain I feel all the time. And then the pain is gone!!!

Best Help for Pain!   07/22/15
Reviewed by:     Location Not Given
In 21 years of suffering from fibromyalgia this is the one thing that gets rid of my pain. After two treatments I was off my walker. After 3 treatments I was able to hit the gym and work out. Instead of being red ridden and hardly able to move I now have an active lifestyle with next to no pain. I continue to get treatments once or twice a month because trigger points and pain always comes back. This so the only thing I found that keeps the pain away for two weeks or more. I have tried everything from massage to narcotic pain meds and this is what works for me. It is painful to have done, but no worse than the fibro pain. I am sore right afterwards, but the next day it is like I don't have fibro anymore. I highly recommend it.

Seemed like a miracle, but you need to participate   01/24/14
Reviewed by:     Location Not Given
I was not expecting such a dramatic change. After the first treatment (focused on my glutes) I felt sore for a day or two, BUT my joint pain was almost entirely relieved. After 5 more treatments - each focused on another patch of trigger points, I am nearly pain free, but this is only because the Physical Therapist who provides the dry needling is giving me postural alignment advice, including ergonomic information for work and home AND an extensive amount of home exercises. I am absolutely positive the points have stayed relieved because I've increased awareness around these muscles and - most importantly - have been doing the exercises religiously REGARDLESS of if I "want to" or if they sometimes seem insurmountable. My pain free future is worth it. We plan to taper off the sessions over the next month at which point I will have follow ups and continue with exercises, etc.

dry needling technique   03/31/13
Reviewed by:     Location Not Given
I was diagnosed with fibromaygia about four years ago. Ive really had it for about 13 years before. I was lucky i was in colorado and found a nurse practioner that believed me. My pain level at that time was about a 15. Ive taken all kinds of pain and muscle relaxers and nothing would help. Then he put me on cymbalta and 10 mg of methadone. Within a week my pain level went down. I tried all kinds of therapys and deep tissue massages would help for about a day. Then my dr. Told me about this dry needling and my life changed after i started doing this kind of treatments. I started my treatments twice a week for about six months and then went down once a week for about six months Then I was able to go twice a month for the next year or so. In the meantime we moved from Colorado where I was introduced to dry needling to Florida where they don't do it. It really helped my trigger points and the tightness I had all over. My pain level before I started this was at least a 10 + after The first treatmeat after I was done I went back home for the first time and fell asleep from being so exhaustsd from hurting and so forth from pain. This was a relaxing treatment for me. I really believe in this treatment. It has been the best and most effective. For the first time in 13 years I could enjoy life again. Along with my medications I was taken. I was able to reduce one medications from 10 Mg to 5 Mg. I wish the state of Florida would do the dry needling. Its worth it. You might be a little sore from where the needles went in but it doesn't last long like the fibro.pain I had good results from this treatment and I hope my story will.help some one else I know what you are going through. I never gave up and with the help of God. if you've never tried dry needling do. Be sure you find someone that knows how to do it. What they should do the needle goes through the trigger point and then it should release or the muscles will jump. It even helped my tmj.

Trigger Point Injections are Miraculous   08/17/07
Reviewed by:     New York, USA
A trigger point injection completely eliminates the specific trigger point, immediately upon injection. the doctor uses lidocaine to prevent rebound. nothing else will eliminate a trigger point for me. trigger point injections are simply miraculous. i am adding my review of trigger point therapy (with lidocaine) here as well, as it is most likely the actual physical needling that is releasing the scar tissue of the trigger point: The only thing that removes a trigger point for me are trigger point injections; they are nothing short of miraculous. they are instantaneous; when the belly of the trigger point is found, the muscle "jumps" as the scar tissue is released. the injection site is a little sore that day, but by the next day, there is no pain, from the injection or more importantly, from the trigger point. my doctor uses a very very thin needle and lidocaine. the thin needle causes no pain going into the skin, but when a trigger point is found by the needle, there will be temporary trigger point pain, then complete and total release. i was a big chicken about getting them injected, i tried muscle relaxants, stretching, and excercise for a year before i took the plunge; i wished i hadn't waited so long, but am so relieved to have found a treatment; if my doctor would inject them all, rather than only when they are unbearable, i truely believe i'd be painfree. pressing on trigger points only makes them 1000x worse for me. stretching and hot baths and heating pads and ice packs do give temporary relief, but only the injections are a "cure" for me. i also want to add, after reading others reviews where they said the injections didn't help: 1. the doctor and you have to find the belly of the knot....you know its been reached when it produces momentary "exquisite" pain and the muscle "jumps" like when your reflexes are checked; then the doctor injects the lidocaine. the best way to find the exact spot is for you to press around lightly til you find it by the pain response, then have the doctor lightly press until you both agree on the spot, then have the doctor circle it, then when the doctor goes in with the needle, let him or her know when they've reached it. go to a specialist (a physiatrist is a good specialist for this) who specializes in trigger point injections. 2. i needed to have 3-4 trigger points injected each month for about a year before i had significant relief, but each released trigger point released that muscle's spasming. you need to be very in tune with your body and be able to pull the pain apart. my physical therapist said it was like peeling an onion. so don't give up on the injections too quickly. i had debilitating trigger point pain / muscle spasms for about 3-4 years before i successfully started trigger point injections.

Dry Needle Trigger Point Release   08/21/05
Reviewed by:     Strafford, New Hampshire, USA
Dry needle trigger point release consists of using accupuncture needles to make the trigger points release. The needle is inserted into points that refer pain, making the pain jump and then go away. The muscles then release. Takes about 30 minutes in a practitioners office...followup with hot packs is nice, but not necessary. Treatments cost between $95 and $35 depending on how sorry for you the practitioner feels. Falls sort of under accupuncture, but not all accupuncturists practice dry needle trigger point release.
