REFLEXOLOGY/BEST FIBRO AID 10/24/07

For several years I had REFLEXOLOGY on my feet and often my hands about once every 10 days and looked forward to my 1 hr. sessions after being diagnosed with sudden onset fibromyalgia soon after gallbladder surgery. It will detox the system very slowly unlike massage...which feels great initially but a few hours later proves too much deep tissue detox and I would feel lousy for a couple days. Like any therapy such as acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, one must drink a lot of water after the session to flush the toxins released out of the system or you'll feel worse rather than better.
Reflexology is by far the most gentle therapy I've found and quite enjoyable and relaxing and IT WORKS!!! You want the reflexology treatment to be rather gentle at first and then it can gradually be done deeper, after your system adjusts to it, as too much pressure work will release too many toxins and it can be painful in certain areas that are inflamed in your system. Many reflexology therapist pride themselves on digging in and working out the knots or grainy spots in different areas of the feet and this is not good....gentle foot work is the real key to this treatment and a reflexologist that is familiar with fibro will know this.
My sessions were always combined with appropriate (pure) aromatherapy for the way I was feeling that day. I managed to find two gals that were excellent in reflexology/aromatherapy but since moving to a desert climate I have yet to find one as good as those girls but I'll continue my search.
My fibro symptoms are much improved over those of most that I know and I attribute this to those early years of the reflexology/aromotherapy sessions. You can buy books that can help you do this yourself but I do not find it near as effective, nor relaxing, as having a qualified reflexology therapist.
Since dealing with fibro and it's many fluctuating symptoms, I find reflexology has helped me to maintain close to a normal life style again and each session can address the problems you are experiencing at that particular time. Most of us have a lot of chemical sensitivities and muscle testing can help a therapist find what aromatherapy essences are helpful for you.
I still experience some sleep problems but Klonopin helps and I have discovered the BACH FLOWER SLEEP REMEDY, new at most health food stores, is wonderful to quiet the busy brain that we often get and which disturbs peaceful rest!!!
Big barometer/weather changes stir up the deep tissue aching and I've found that sipping a GLASS (Not Bottle) of a good wine....not sweet....helps take the edge off better than any RX drug. I hope this helps some of you ....after you try REFLEXOLOGY a few times you'll find it really works!!!!! It isn't a 100% cure but is better than anything I've tried and you name it, I've tried it! Good Luck and Enjoy...... PS Stay away from as many chemicals and sugar as possible!!
