Qigong 12/14/06
Reviewed by:
Location Not Given
You can do these exercises as slow or fast as you want. It helps with balance, muscle toning, stretching, flexibility, and overall health.
Different muscle tensioning in the arms/hands and their positioning have accupuncture type effects.
I do Qigong as a warm up before practicing Ba Gua Zhang - an internal chinese martial/health art. It consists of change palms and circle walking. If you have back problems Ba Gua Zhang will probably be very benefical to you. If you have Fibromyalgia it can be as strenuous an exercise as you want to make it.
If you can move I'd recommend trying it. Check out your local community college for classes on Tai Chi, Ba Gua Zhang, Qigong or any internal chinese martial/health art.
I can stand up straight and my lower back pain is gone! I'm no longer a canidate for double discectomy and spinal fusion.

Qigong is great! 08/14/05
Reviewed by:

Quigong helps me with overall pain. It helps to increase my endurance, lift my spirits, increase strength. I breathe better and feel less pain.
I am working up to an every day qigong practice for 30-45 minutes. I practiced for 1 month daily for only 10-15 minutes which felt great, but I wanted to complete a whole video that I have, so I reduced the # of days to begin this process to work myself up.
I highly recommend giving it a try. It does not take long at all to learn and do or even to feel the results. I have been doing it over a year now.
Does it reverse Fibro? No, but it makes me feel better.
It is FREE- You can get a book or video from the library. There is even an online video. If you like it then purchase your own video. It is not expensive at all.
