Fibromyalgia and Myotherapy
Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain Syndrome may be helped by Myotherapy, however be sure to let
the therapist know that you have fibromyalgia so that they can be
as gentle around your tender points.
The therapist will search for your myofasical pain "trigger points" and apply
pressure to each trigger point for about 5 to 7 seconds, using their
fingers, knuckles, hands, and elbows.
Myotherapy was created by Bonnie Pruden to relieve muscle
pains such as sprains, strains, tmj (temporomandibular joint disorder),
back pains, headaches, repetitive motion disorders, fibromyalgia, shoulder
pains, carpal tunnel syndrome, and sciatica.
