Can't do as well without it   03/12/13

I didn't realize it was helping. The beneficial effects were slow. After about 2 mos. I got sick and had to skip an appt. I realized really quickly how much better it had made me feel. At first it didn't quite keep me going for a whole week but now I go for about 10 days before noticing that I need to get another one. Tried to go for 2 weeks - not quite there yet.

helps me function   04/07/12

before the MCs i could not tolerate any form of exercise, even normal daily movements. it's not a cure for pain and energy deficits, but its the difference between not being able to get out of bed to tolerate basic daily physical activity, and being able to get out of bed to tolerate basic activities and even a few yoga classes a week. if i go more than two weeks without one i feel like i've been run over by a truck, for doing absolutely "nothing." with the MCs i have to push myself beyond basic activities and my yoga to get to that point. only side effects during administration are feeling hot and a slight metallic taste in the back of my throat if i push it in too fast. when i take my time though, usually about 45 minutes to an hour, i feel no side effects at all. sometimes i need to take a nap afterward, but its a warm fuzzy nap that energizes me after about 20 minutes.

I tried this at a doctors office in fairfield ohio area. The first four I did fine, but couldn't tell any change in my body. This fifth one i came home was vomiting, had chills, had diarrhea, had sweats, then i got a migraine headache. I was sick for 3 days. I would never recommend this treatment.

It works but...   05/17/10
Reviewed by:     Boulder, Colorado, USA
I actually leaned to do this therapy on myself, so I could do it anytime I had a few hours. The tricky part is putting the needle in. It works well, but for some reason I eventually ran out of veins that I could find to stick the needle into. I miss being able to do this therapy because of the immediate pain reduction, as well the the IBS and sleep improvements

WOW!   05/07/08
Reviewed by:     Location Not Given
I was not given the myers cocktail to treat fibro, but rather spinal headaches after a LP went horribly wrong. I was unable to even get up from bed to go to the bathroom with out vomiting because the pain was so severe. I was taking opiates, anti depressents, and steroids to combat the pain but none of them worked. So finally my Mom said enough is enough and took me to John Hopkins University Hospital. After examination they decided to try the myers cocktail, in which they claimed was a miracle drug. I agreed and within twenty minutes I was able to get out of bed and I felt ZERO pain. They warned me though that it would only last about six hours before I felt the pain again. And I did, but those six hours were a wonderful break from all the pain.

This is really working for me   12/28/05
Reviewed by:     Los Angeles, California, USA
I've had fibromyalgia for a few years, only recently officially diagnosed. Conventional medicine's answer was Ultram, Zoloft [even though I've passed every depression screening test I've taken] and Ambien. I was REALLY dismayed to read about the side effects of these meds. I'm getting the Myers from a licensed ND. He warned me that it could take several treatments to begin seeing a benefit, but for me the help was immediate. As of my 3rd treatment the pain disappears, and only some minor pains creep back in a day or two before the next treatment. I'd forgotten what it felt like to be pain free and energetic. For the first time in 2 years, I can walk stairs without clinging to the handrail and wincing all the way down. I can step into my car without having to pick up my leg. I can drop to my knees and tie my shoes - and stand myself back up without help. I've gone back to the treadmill and the yoga studio - two things I gave up last year because of pain. The only side effect for me is a bruise from the IV. Time off work is a little hassle, but so worth negotiating for it. After 6-8 weekly treatments I'm hoping to taper down long-term to 1 per month. I'd rather do this once a month for the rest of my life and HAVE a life instead of taking daily opiates or narcotics and end up progressively more disabled anyway. The ND is treating me homeopathically for adrenal exhaustion and hypothyroidism as well, so I have some very real hope to beat this thing and get my health back. This was absolutely the best decision I could have made for myself. I've gone from being an open-minded skeptic to a total fan of natural medicine. I realize there are no miracle cures, but this is really working for me and I'd like to pass on some hope to someone else.
